DescriptionIn Love With the Landscape: A collection of Plein Aire Paintings by Jane Johnson
Plein Aire is a French term meaning "in the open air," in other words, painting or drawing in the out of doors. "When I begin a plein aire painting, my approach first involves a strong emotional connection with the scene I have chosen. While absorbing the emotional and visual appeal of the subject, I break down the landscape into an assortment of shapes and colors. I enjoy capturing the organic and abstract elements that can be found in nature.
